Deva Ashana

About the Studio

Atelier Deva Ashana is a cute, cozy, personal, home based bodywork & art studio located in the Transvaalbuurt in Amsterdam east. The treatments I give here are just for women who absolutely love cats and are not afraid to climb 4 flights of stairs. Sama, the Burmese boy cat, is an undeniable part of the studio and might join us during the a session. You might hear some of his kitty sounds and in some cases he joins you on the massage table for a little nap or put his tiny paws on you. The home studio is located on the 4th floor of a quite recently renovated building from the 1930's, there is no elevator, definitely a good opportunity to work your legs and glutes.

If all of the above, below and beyond feel right for you, please come! And if you show me your Stadspas or student card you enjoy a 30% discount on a session of your choice.

Do you live in or near Weesp? Maybe you would like to visit me at the beautiful massage studio Arigato Massage Company. According to newspaper Het Parool, Arigato has the best massage therapists in Amsterdam! I will be available there for all the massage techniques mentioned above. When booking there, choose: ‘Ashana’ at the tab: ‘employee preference’.

Stress Relief

The key is slowing down. Taking a step back from our busy lives. Through gentle, slow and deep touch I invite you to let go a little bit more, so your body, mind and heart can relax. During a Stress Relief Massage, the intention is to create a safe space for deeper relaxation of your whole system. Nothing has to happen, we welcome whatever is there.

Deep Tissue

Non doing is what is essential here. Allowing your body to make space for my technique. A very deep and slow way to touch and work with the muscles and connective tissue of your back, chest, shoulders and/or neck, according to what feels right for you.. A way to possibly release deeper lying tensions in body, mind and heart.

Good to meet you

My name is Ashana Wiemers, owner of Atelier Deva Ashana.

Some time ago I read an article about the regrets people had, when lying on their death bed. Things they hadn't done, Things they did not live. I thought it would be a good idea to start realizing this for myself right now. And what came up was learning how to do bodywork.

Coming from a more complex background, it has been challenging for me to feel safe, loved and to relax. Through, meditation, therapy and bodywork I regained that sense of safety, self love and the capacity to relax.

Bodywork has now given me a way to share my gifts with others.

What i can provide

Openness

There is space to share here. All feelings are welcome. When you come for a session, there is no right or wrong, good or bad. However you are in that moment, is just how you are. And from this place we will start, and see how it unfolds.

Depth

Softness, warmth and slowing down can melt down the walls we have built around ourselves, to protect those places most vulnerable. When we melt, when we surrender, there is the possibility to experience the deeper layers of our being and feel those feelings we haven't allowed ourselves to feel. And when we feel, there is an opportunity to heal.

Understanding

Going through deeper processes, dealing with the pressure from your everyday life or physical pain is not always easy. Choosing to recover or just choosing to take time and care for yourself, instead of repressing your needs, is a big deal. It takes courage. And sometimes you don't want to talk, you just need a good relaxing massage session to reconnect with your body.

Testimonials

'After the session I felt very close to my tiny me, my inner child. This is coming home.'

Chloë (31) Entrepeneur & Shiatsu Therapist

'Receiving bodywork from Ashana was a new kind of massage experience for me. The techniques she uses, make it so you become very aware of the way you lie on the massage table, She invites you to let go, by moving certain body parts. I didn't have to do anything, besides not actively participating or anticipating the movement myself. I experienced more mobility and awareness inside my body. I heard she is now also learning Shiatsu, this is something I would also like to experience with her.'

Mia (45)

'Really wonderful, the way Ashana's soft and warm hands can bring such deep relaxation. I completely calmed down after a stressful day. She intuitively knows where and how to touch. I felt reborn again'
